The love affair between Microsoft and Linux ; the reality!!!!

If you're still wondering why the September print cover
story is all about open source.Open source was long the antithesis of
everything Microsoft traditionally stood for, it's no secret
those days are long past.
But even as Microsoft incrementally started dipping its arms
into various open source world over the past decade, it was often with
the goal of boosting the fortunes of
its proprietary software. Hence, the community greeted any
moves with suspicion and cynicism, often with good reason.
As the company built out Microsoft Azure and supported Linux, Java and a
myriad of other open source platforms several years ago, it went largely
unnoticed outside the Microsoft community. The inflexion point was nearly
a year ago when CEO Satya Nadella said "Microsoft loves Linux." In my
mind, it was clear Microsoft was all in when Azure CTO Mark Russinovich
earlier this year didn't rule out the possibility of Microsoft open sourcing
Windows.
To determine how the open source community really views Microsoft's
moves, I turned to respected author Steven J. Vaughn-Nichols. Vaughn-
Nichols has covered the mainstream open source industry since its
beginning nearly two decades ago and has penned many articles and
columns exploring Microsoft's moves with a cynical eye.
If anyone could find something unscrupulous, or even suspicious, he would
be the one to find it. Indeed, many are adamantly cynical of Microsoft's
open source motives. Others remain skeptical given Microsoft's Android
patent suits, but am willing to give the company the benefit of the doubt.while there still exists a loudening chorus of prominent members of the open source
community who are outright impressed, a sign Microsoft is incrementally
becoming a welcome member.
When Microsoft finally get these to full effect, the market is their's to conquer....

White holes and alternate universes-Stephen Hawking solution yet..

This theory posits that inside every black hole is another universe; and that the if you could pass through the event horizon of the black hole, you’d be emitted by an object called a white hole on the other side. A white hole is a theoretical structure (none are known to exist, though they don’t violate any of the known laws of physics) that emit matter and energy, but cannot ever be reached from the outside. I’m not going to pretend to understand the physics much past that, except to note that there’s no known way for a white hole to form, no white holes have ever been observed to exist, and white holes don’t form when stars collapse(THIS IS QUITE OBSERVABLE WITH PHYSICS AND IT KNOWLEDGE TO MAKE BELIEF THIS THEORY , AND HAWKIN'S CAN GET GET THIS DONE WITH BEFORE WILL NOT BELIEF THE THEORY UNREAL ).

Artist's conception of a white hole keeps it up;according to some theories, a white hole, rather than the Big Bang, might have been responsible for the birth of our own universe. This is, as you might expect, rather difficult to test directly and indirectly. The chance/s that we’ll ever answer the question pro or con is quite low. Not only are we fresh out of black holes in this neck of the woods, the gravitational fields surrounding them would destroy any scientific instrument package we could build. Even if the alternate universe theory is true, what a white hole emits is a blast of energy — not a probe, and certainly not a human being.

For some decades, black holes have been at the center of a paradoxical problem — a problem famed physicist (Stephen Hawking) now believes he’s solved. Even if you don’t follow physics and astronomy closely, you’re likely familiar with the concept of black holes. Black holes, acclaimed to be formed by the collapse of super-massive stars, are areas of gravitation so intense that nothing, not even light, can escape. As an object approaches a black hole, it is stretched and compressed beyond recognition, until it passes through the event horizon and… well, we don’t know what happens inside the event horizon of a black hole.

In 1974,Hawking thinks he may have solved problem, Hawking proved that black holes do emit particles, in the form of so-called Hawking radiation. That means that over time — an absolutely fantastic amount of time — black holes evaporate. But if a black hole can evaporate, what happens to the information about the material it once absorbed?

To understand this in the physical world, consider the drought afflicting much of the Southwest Nations . As reservoirs fall, garbage, old vehicles, and even entire towns becomes visible. The “information,” in this case, is disclosed as the reservoir evaporates. Remember, though — a black hole is an area of such intense gravity that nothing can escape, including information about what it previously digested. If the information disappears with the black hole, that violates quantum mechanics. If the information doesn’t escape, that also violates the laws of quantum mechanics. It’s a problem.
Hawking at the conference.

Here’s Hawking’s new solution(s). At a conference sponsored by the KTH Royal Institute of Technology this week, he proposed one of two answers. First, it’s possible that the physical material (information) swallowed by the black hole never actually enters it at all. Instead, it’s smashed into the point of no return and encoded as a two-dimensional hologram.

“The information is not stored in the interior of the black hole as one might expect, but in its boundary — the event horizon,” he said. Working with Cambridge Professor Malcolm Perry (who spoke afterward) and Harvard Professor Andrew Stromberg, Hawking formulated the idea that information is stored in the form of what are known as super translations.

“The idea is the super translations are a hologram of the ingoing particles,” Hawking said. “Thus they contain all the information that would otherwise be lost.”

The information stored in these holograms is then emitted in the form of quantum fluctuations, though the data is so scrambled as to be useless for all intents and purposes. To return to our real-world analogy, imagine feeding a car through a crusher, industrial wood chipper, and coffee grinder. Even if you captured every bit of fluid, metal shavings, and tattered upholstery released at every stage of this process, there’s no way to reconstitute two tons of finely-ground Mercedes into a vehicle.

The advantage of this theory is that it doesn’t violate quantum mechanics. The disadvantage is that it’s rather boring.

The other proposed option by Hawking's is that black holes might serve as gateways into other universes. “The existence of alternative histories with black holes suggests this might be possible,” Hawking said. “The hole would need to be large and if it was rotating it might have a passage to another universe. But you couldn’t come back to our universe.

patient dispute-Microsoft's Lumia smartphones avoid US import ban

"In April, the U.S. trade judge ruled that Microsoft used InterDigital's
patents, considered standard in the industry, but refused to pay for
a license to them. An import ban would have affected any Microsoft
phone using 3G cellular technology, including its Lumia
smartphones."
"After reviewing that ruling, the commission said on Friday that
Microsoft did not violate the patents, but it did not address the issue
of fair licensing for essential patents."
"Earlier this month, Microsoft sued InterDigital in Delaware federal
court, claiming InterDigital violated U.S. antitrust law by breaking
promises to offer licenses on reasonable terms.

Microsoft's smartphones can continued to be imported and sold in
the US, according to a ruling this week by the U.S. International
Trade Commission. Their decision overturned a previous ruling by a
judge in April, who declared Microsoft had violated two patents owned
by InterDigital.
The dispute over these patents, which concern optimising a
cellphone's power to connect to a network, first started way back in
2007, when InterDigital sued Nokia, claiming that the company had
infringed on their property by using them in their phones without the
proper licence or payment. Microsoft acquired Nokia's Devices and
Services business in 2014, which included the ongoing court battle
with InterDigital.

these are your best dating apps for Android os nd IOS...and you never complain if being single anymore...

Here they come in styles and smiles...

HowAboutWe ( iOS, Android)
This app relies on the premise that two people who have the same idea of
what a perfect first date would be like would hit it off on their first date.
HowAboutWe works by letting you broadcast a suggestion for a date and
have other people contact you when they are intrigued. It's a free download
but members will have to pay if they want to receive messages from other
members.

Coffee Meets Bagel ( iOS , Android)
If you don't want to sift through tons of profiles to meet a date, Coffee
Meets Bagel will do it for you. Every day at noontime, this app will match
you up with one person that you can either like or pass and who shares at
least one mutual friend on Facebook. Over time, the app learns what type of
people you'd like to meet and will be able to show you better matches.
Plus, the existence of a mutual friend makes it a bit safer than having to
meet up with random people you meet on the Internet.

Hinge ( iOS, Android)
Hinge is basically Coffee Meets Bagel on steroids. Instead of being
matched to one person every day, you get matched to 15 different people
each day. Like Coffee Meets Bagel, Hinge pulls information from your
Facebook profile and matches you up only with people who are friends with
your friends, therefore taking out the creepiness that normally comes along
with dating people online.

Pure ( iOS )
Pure was developed for one thing and one thing only: to help you get laid
and erase evidence of what happened later. Branding itself the "Uber for
dates," Pure lets you post a request to meet up with someone for a date,
and that request will be sent to everyone within a certain distance from
where you are. If someone accepts, it's hookup city for you. If not, all
traces of your meetup request will be deleted and no one (except probably
the NSA) will know.

Grindr ( iOS , Android)
Grindr is one of the best places for you to meet gay, bi-sexual, and bi-
curious men that are near your location. In fact, Grindr has become pretty
much a part of many gay communities that when people meet others in
person, they ask for their profiles on Grindr instead of Facebook. Grindr is a
free app that makes money off advertisements. If you want an ad-free
environment, you can pay for Grindr Xtra, which comes with additional
features as well.

Dattch ( iOS , Android )
As Grindr is for men, Dattch is for lesbian, bi-sexual, and bi-curious women.
This app offers a fun, fresh vibe for meeting other women to date or just
other women to make friends with when you just moved to a new city.
When you're feeling uncomfortable about chatting up other people, you can
play the app's "Would You Rather" game to break the ice and meet other
women who might suit your preferences.

At First Sight ( Android)
Plenty of pictures and a well-thought-out profile are no match to video
when it comes to telling something about a person. That is what "The
Bachelor" host Chris Harrison had in mind when he developed At First
Sight. With apps such as Vine becoming more and more popular, it won't
be a wonder if At First Sight sets the stage for the future of online dating.

Tastebuds ( iOS )
Research shows the types of music we listen to define the type of people
we want to date. For instance, if you're a Beatles fan, you're likely going to
hit it off with someone who likes the Rolling Stones. On the other hand, if
you listen to Jay-Z and Eminem all day, you're not likely a match with
someone who loves Andrea Bocelli. That's what Tastebuds banks on as it
aims to match people based on their musical preferences.

OkCupid ( iOS, Android)
OkCupid is basically the mobile version of the OkCupid website, one of the
biggest dating websites that has been around for a while. Everything you
can do on the OkCupid website, you can also do on the app, including
create your own profile, check out and rate other people's profiles, chat with
people you're interested in, and answer questionnaires to match up with
someone similar to you.

Plenty of Fish ( iOS, Android)
Plenty of Fish apparently attracts 60,000 new members every week, which
shouldn't be surprise as the app relies on the old saying that dating is a
numbers game. Like OkCupid, Plenty of Fish is a dating site turned mobile
app where you can build your profile, find matches, and message them. It
has also taken a page out of Tinder's easy swiping strategy to allow people
to quickly scan through all the matches they get.

Bumble ( iOS)
If you're sick of the not-so-occasional pervert that turns up on Tinder,
Bumble is the perfect alternative for you. This iOS app is actually the
brainchild of a Tinder co-founder who left Tinder and sued another co-
founder for sexual harassment. This explains why Bumble has a bit of
similarity with Tinder by letting users swipe right when they like someone.
The difference? Bumble lets women take control by being the ones who
have to make the first move. They have to do so in 24 hours, though.
Otherwise, the match disappears and you spend your entire life wondering
what could have been if you just had the courage to chat up that hottie.

Tinder ( iOS , Android )
There's a reason Tinder became extremely popular over the last year. It is
set up in such an addictive way that can have you swiping for hours
looking through profiles of people you might be interested in. Plus, it places
a premium on privacy and minimal emotional investment, as it banks mostly
on physical attraction to get a pair to meet up. Tinder's become a hotbed
for sleazeballs in the recent months, though, so if you can't handle the bad
jokes and even worse pick-up lines, there are plenty of other options.

Android devices can now be synchronised with a window 10 pc with ease....

Now you're ready to synchronise that android device with a window 10 device....this is how you go about it without troubles...It's pretty easy to achieve the syncing and transferring data back and forth,
all thanks to Microsoft's Phone Companion app which it released earlier in
May this year.
For those who are wondering why syncing is required, unlike Windows
Phone users that sync automatically with a Windows 10 PC, iOS and
Android users need to set-up the sync process and need a Windows Live
account, which should be verified, to do the same.
Even though iOS and Android users will get support that is restricted to five
apps vis-à-vis Windows Phone users who get all seven, the deal is not a
bad one.
Here's a step-by-step guide to help you sync your Android smartphone with
your Windows 10 PC.
- Make sure that your Android smartphone has sufficient battery charge
prior to beginning the syncing process.
- Ensure you have a verified Windows Live account.
- Have your Android device at hand for setting up the Windows 10 Phone
Companion app.
How to Sync:
Step 1: Connect your Android smartphone to the PC through a USB cable.
Windows 10 will automatically identify the device and start installing the
requisite USB drivers.
Step 2: Launch the Phone Companion app and select the device platform,
i.e. Android.
Step 3: Select OneDrive.
Step 4: Key-in your Windows Live account's login details. Wait for the
prompt and then click the sign-in button.
Step 5: Once logged in, you will get a download link in your email. Click on
this link to download the corresponding app for Android. Alternately, the
app can be sought out via the Google Play Store directly.
Step 6: Install the app on your phone. Relaunch it and key in the Windows
Live ID details.
Step 7: Sign in to the account and follow the instructions and give requisite
permits to run the app. For example, OneDrive will need a permit for
accessing the image streaming/gallery.
Step 8: Now that the Phone Companion app is set up, go to the PC and
check the confirmation box that acknowledges that you've signed into
OneDrive app on your particular Android device.
Step 9: Next, confirm the Camera Upload settings on your handset. Do so
by ticking the box. Hit next and then Done to finish the process.
You can now sync data from your Android phone to the Windows 10 PC.
To sync the other compatible apps with Phone Companion app repeat the
same steps.

Enjoy every moment of it..

finally..........Saavn launches a Universal Windows application for window ten.

It's finally here and ready to use! Saavn has launched their Universal Windows App for
Windows 10. Well, it's not actually in the Windows Store at the time of
Now, but you'll have it later today. Founded in 2007, Saavn is one
of the leading music streaming services in India and has over 14 million
active users in over 150 countries.
With Saavn for Windows, consumers will have access to the premium
music streaming experience with more than 10 million tracks across 11
languages - Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali,
Kannada, Malayalam, and Bhojpuri. The company has over 900 label
partnerships including T-Series, Tips, YRF, Saregama, Eros, Universal, Sony,
and Warner Music....

Saavn for Windows offers the service's core products like phonetic search
and dynamic bit-rate streaming. As a Universal Windows App, it has an
adaptable layout for desktop and tablet. This version of Saavn for Windows
is probably the company's effort to get on to the Windows Store and has a
limited feature set compared to the Android and iOS apps. I've learned that
additional features like Saavn Social features, Saavn Radio, and Saavn Pro
(ad-free and offline streaming) will be added in coming weeks.
At this moment, Saavn for Windows is a pretty basic app and I'd hope the
updates continue to flow adding more features as we go along. Also, while
it's a move forward, the non-availability of a Windows Phone 8.x version
after so much anticipation maybe a downer for many. Give it a whirl on
your Windows 10 devices, and let us know how you like it.

the consequence of Genetically Modified Food

Humans have been genetically
enhancing other organisms through the practice of
selective breeding for thousands of years till today.
A Look around you: the beaked beans, kidney red beans, the sweet corn and
seedless watermelons at the supermarket, the purebred
dogs at the park, and your neighbor's prize rosebush are
all examples of how humans have selectively enhanced
desirable traits in other living things.
The type of genetic enhancement that generates the most
concern goes a step beyond selective breeding, however.
Technology now allows us to transfer genes between
organisms. For example, the tomato plant's beetle
resistance relies on a gene from a bacterium ( Bacillus
thuringiensis ), which scientists inserted into the tomato
plant's genome. This gene, called cry1Ac , encodes a
protein that is poisonous to certain types of insects,
including the beetle.
How is this done? Gene transfer technology is simply a
sophisticated version of a cut-and-paste operation. Once
the desired gene is identified in the native organism's
genome, it can be cut/taken out, transferred to the target plant,
and pasted/placed into its genome.... Once the new gene has
been introduced, the plant can be bred to create a new
strain that passes the gene from generation to generation.

Sit back relax and thinker something real and unreal about GMF,
think of some probable risks of growing plants that contain genes
from other organisms? Let's examine some examples: the beetle-
resistant tomato, the vaccination banana, the saltwater rice plant etc.
We've already covered the potential advantages of these plants, but what
are the concerns?
Cross-breeding with wild populations. For all of these examples, a primary
concern is preventing genetically modified versions from mixing with the
naturally existing populations of plants from which they're derived. Plants
rely on the transfer of pollen, via insects or the air, to breed and produce
offspring, and it's difficult to control how they cross-breed in the wild.
In most cases, it's not yet clear how introduction of the non-native gene
would affect wild populations(population control, epidemy, high or low mortality, increase in death retion,or improveded health care system or improved treatment ratio). Critics of genetically modified plant
technology cite the need to learn more about the potential long-term
impacts of genetically modified plants on the environment before mass-
producing them.
Toxicity or allergic reactions. Many people suffer from allergies to various
food items, including nuts, wheat, eggs, or dairy products. There is concern
that the protein products of introduced genes may be toxic or allergenic to
certain individuals.
When farmers start growing genetically modified crops, they stop growing
the old varieties. These old varieties are important sources of diverse genes
that give plants other desirable characteristics. For example, a new pest or
disease could come along and destroy the genetically modified rice. If one
of the old rice varieties has a gene that makes it resistant, it could be
cross-bred to make the saltwater rice resistant as well. If we lose the old
varieties, we also lose their useful genes.
It has been estimated that 70% of all processed foods in the United States
contain at least one genetically modified ingredient—usually a product of
soy plants. There are initiatives afoot to require food manufacturers to
provide clear labeling on processed food products that contain genetically
modified ingredients. This would make it easier for people with allergies to
avoid foods that might pose a danger to them, and it would allow those
who oppose genetically modified foods to opt out of buying them.
Unlike countries such as Australia and Japan, the United States currently
has no laws requiring companies to label products containing genetically
modified ingredients. With or without the controversy surrounding them, genetically modified plants have
taken root in our world. As with any new technology, members of society
have the responsibility to become informed about genetically modified
Plants and their products in order to make decisions.

genetically modified food " what they want us to belief" what will you have done differently!!!!

What would have been your possible alternative...

You are a tomato farmer whose crops are threatened by a persistent
species of beetle. Each year, you spend large sums of money for pesticides
to protect your crops. A biotechnology company introduces a new strain of
tomato plant that produces a natural pesticide, making it resistant to the
beetle. By switching to this new strain, you could avoid both the beetle and
the chemical pesticides traditionally needed to fight it.
As a family physician, you often treat children who suffer from infectious
diseases that could easily be prevented through vaccination. But the
parents of many of your patients cannot afford the cost of vaccinations.
You hear of a new approach that would reduce the cost to a fraction of its
current price: genetically modified fruits and vegetables that contain various
vaccines. By simply eating a banana, a child could be protected against
disease—without getting a shot!
You are the leader of a developing nation. Hunger is a problem among
your citizens: the salty coastal wetlands of your country can't support the
growth of needed crops, and your slow economy can't support importing
enough food for everyone. A biotechnology company has genetically
modified a rice plant that can thrive in salt water, providing your nation with
the opportunity to feed its citizens while bolstering its economy.
The ability to manipulate plants by introducing new genes promises
innovative solutions to these and many other real-world problems. Yet there
is considerable opposition to the use of genetically modified plants for food
production and other uses.
Though, genetic engineering offers a time-saving method for producing larger,
higher-quality crops with less effort and expense. Yet such benefits must
be balanced against the risks of changing the genetic makeup of
organisms.Uderstand the science of plant genetic engineering seem to be the core to

window 10 making a milestone outpaced other predecessors in four weeks of 75million users outreach.

The recent change in the leadership and direction in Microsoft was meant with a little mistrust bt, it seems window is back to market in all facets from software to Lumia to pinpoint and decisive. Acquisitions.
It seemed a little crazy when Microsoft set the ambitious goal to put
Windows 10 on 1 billion devices within the next few years, but just one
month after the launch the company is 7.5 percent of the way there.........With 75 million installations after four weeks, Windows 10 is clearly
spreading faster than any of Microsoft’s previous operating systems.
Windows 7 and 8 both needed about six months to reach 100 million sales.
At this pace, Windows 10 will hit that milestone in under six weeks.
To be fair, the company’s most recent operating system launch is hard to
compare to its predecessors. This is the first time most Windows users
have been able to upgrade for free, there are more computers in the world
today compared to when Windows 7 launched in 2010 and Windows 10
runs on a variety of devices instead of limiting its possible customers to PC
users.
But nonetheless, the numbers are pretty impressive.
Windows 10 was Microsoft’s bid to reclaim its fanbase and pickup
marketshare after controversial changes under Windows 8 left many users
frustrated. So far, the operating system seems to be doing just that.
Installations will likely slow in the coming months after the free upgrades
are exhausted, but Microsoft would still hit its 1 billion devices goal even if
it were to see half as many downloads from now on.
Mehdi tossed out a few other interesting stats, reporting that the Windows
app store is seeing six times as many downloads on Windows 10 compared
Windows 8, Cortana has told over 500,000 jokes in response to the “tell me
a joke” command and the operating system has reached 192 countries,
which is just a few shy of every country on earth.....

now install the Lumia Camera app. Previously exclusive to Lumia
owners, we tried installing the Lumia Camera app on a BLU Win HD
LTE and can confirm that it works. However, there's one catch. The
Lumia Camera on non-Lumia devices is version 4.x, not the latest
version 5.x that includes Rich Capture.
Rich Capture is the best feature on Lumia Camera 5.0 , and it looks
like that will still be exclusive to certain Lumia devices like the
Nokia Lumia 830 , Lumia 930 , Lumia 640 , and Lumia 640 XL . Rich
Capture gives you access to HDR (High Dynamic Range), Dynamic
Flash, and Dynamic Exposure, which allows you to take photos and
edit them for the best exposure settings later.
Even though Lumia Camera 4.x on non-Lumia devices is missing
Rich Capture, it is still a rock solid camera app. You can manually
change brightness, shutter speed, ISO, focus, and White balance.
You can get really creative with these settings or completely ignore
them to use Auto mode.
While this is good news for users with non-Lumia Windows Phone
8.1 devices from BLU, HTC, LG, or Samsung right now, it'll get better
when the Windows 10 Mobile comes out. The Camera app in
Windows 10 borrows a lot from Lumia Camera 5 with HDR and more.
If you can't wait for the official release, you can install Windows 10
Mobile preview. However, the only non-Lumia device currently
supported is the HTC One (M8) for Windows .
Are you installing the Lumia Camera app on your non-Lumia
Windows Phone 8.1 device or are you happy with your default
camera app? Let us know in the comments! Window rocks!!

Torrent trackers are banning Windows 10 users over “privacy concerns”

Microsoft recently updated its Services Agreement , which applies to
Windows 10, Xbox Live, and other Microsoft services. Following the
release of Windows 10, there has been quite a few privacy
controversies. Wi-Fi Sense has been one of the most controversial
privacy concerns – and it pops up every once in a while, which is
pretty disappointing.
Recently, we reported that the Services Agreement now states that the
company could disable usage of unauthorized hardware peripheral
devices and counterfeit games – which applies to the company’s other
services, alongside Windows 10.
Following the reports of privacy concerns no Windows 10, several
torrent trackers are apparently banning Windows 10 users, while some
are considering to ban Windows 10. According to a torrent group
known as “iTS”, Microsoft revoked data protection and shared the data
with others – including an anti-piracy company called MarkMonitor.
Here’s their full statement:
Emphasis added.
“Many of you might have heard or read about the terrible
privacy policy of windows 10 recently. Unfortunately
Microsoft decided to revoke any kind of data protection and
submit whatever they can gather to not only themselves but
also others. One of those is one of the largest anti-piracy
company called MarkMonitor. Amongst other things Windows
10 sends the contents of your local disks directly to one of
their servers. Obviously this goes way too far and is a
serious threat to sites like ours which is why we had to take
measures. Since last Thursday Windows 10 is officially
banned from iTS. Members using it get redirected to a video
that eggsplains the dangers quite in detail hoping to
enlighten as many people as possible.
Perhaps at some point special versions of Windows 10 will
surface that would successfully wipe all those outrageous
privacy violations but until then windows 10 is not welcome
here in the interest of this site and all iTS members.”
iTS have banned Windows 10 users, and they’re currently redirecting
users to a YouTube video. Interestingly, the torrent group states that
until there’s a “special version” of Windows which wipes all “those
outrageous privacy violations”, Windows 10 users will be banned.
Obviously, there isn’t any evidence to support these recent privacy
concerns yet – and there’s been a lot of FUD going around about
Windows 10 privacy concerns, which is pretty worrying.
Surprisingly enough, other torrent groups, including BB and FSC will
soon ban Windows 10 users as well. A BB staff stated that Windows
10 is “gathering information on users’ P2p [peer-to-peer]” – and the
data is apparently being “shared with anti-piracy group”. The group also
states that Windows 10 “sends the results of local searches to a well
known anti-piracy company”:
“What’s particularly nasty is that apparently it sends the
results of local(!!) searches to a well known anti piracy
company directly so as soon as you have one known p2p or
scene release on your local disk … BAM!”
As we’ve stated previously, there is no evidence that Windows 10 is
sharing any privacy related information with anti-piracy groups yet.
If you’re worried about privacy on Windows 10, we highly recommend
reading this piece from the folks over at LifeHacker which will give you
a better idea of how Microsoft is using your data to deliver the new
features on Windows 10.

Testing suggests that not even identical twins can dupe Windows Hello

Windows Hello, the feature in Windows 10 that lets you use your face as
your login password, so to speak, may seem like a mere novelty at first
glance, and something that could potentially be readily fooled. Journalist
Chris Griffin with The Australian wanted to find out for himself , so he
brought in six pairs of identical twins to put Windows Hello to the test.
The result? In each of the six cases, Windows Hello kept each twin from
logging in as their identical siblings.
To run the test, Griffin used a webcam-equipped Lenovo ThinkPad
notebook, and had one twin from each pair set up a login account and
configure Windows Hello to recognize their face. He would then have the
other twin attempt to log into the first twin’s account. Windows Hello
successfully kept the imposter twin out in each case, even if the second
twin wore their hair like the first twin or removed their glasses.
Windows Hello wasn’t without problems in The Australian’s experiment. In
some cases, it wouldn’t recognize faces right away, and in one case, it
wouldn’t work at all, so if you give Windows Hello a go, you may run into
similar difficulties. Still, it’s reassuring to see that Windows Hello can keep
impostors out, even if it doesn’t always pick up faces.

Intel powered ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe touts 256GB of storage

ASUS has just announced the 'ZenFone 2 Deluxe' that touts 256GB of
storage. While it's easy to salivate at the idea of possessing the ZenFone 2
Deluxe, the handset will first be making its debut in Brazil, and there is no
word currently whether it will hit other markets.
The ZenFone 2 made its debut earlier this year and had a fairly robust set
of specifications with a modest price. The 'Deluxe' will offer an Intel Atom
processor, 4GB RAM, 5.5-inch 1080p display, 13MP rear camera and 5MP
front-facing camera. The major difference for the Deluxe will be the 256GB
of storage and two different aesthetic options. The handset will now also
be available in a 'multifaceted polygonal finish' and carbon-fiber black.
Not to be overshadowed, ASUS also announced the arrival of the ZenFone
Selfie and ZenFone Laser for Brazil. While the 'Selfie' was announced a
couple months back, the 'Laser' is a new mid-range device that will offer a
5.5-inch 720p display, laser focusing technology similar to the LG G4 , a
Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor and 2GB RAM. Although
pricing wasn't announced for any of the aforementioned handsets, judging
by ASUS' previous track record, the 'Deluxe', 'Laser' and 'Selfie' should be
priced fairly.

How to fix sound drivers issues on Windows 10 Build 10130

Microsoft released Windows 10 Build 10130 to the Windows Insiders on fast ring. Despite the fact that the build includes a handful of sweet new things, there is an annoying bug on this build for some users. On build 10130, there are some sound driver issues for several users. Thankfully though, there’s a working workaround for this issue. Here’s out to fix it: Right click on Sound icon to open Playback devices Choose your current playback device Navigate to Properties and click on Advanced Choose lower or higher bitrate (use 24bit/44100 Hz or 24bit/192000Hz – it depends on the device). The above steps should fix the issue – I tried it on my computer, and it did indeed fix the issue which is great. If you’re facing the same issue, make sure to follow the above steps to fix it and if you’ve found a better workaround, make sure to share it on the comment section below!

Samsung is reportedly planning to launch a 12-inch Windows 10 tablet

Samsung is reportedly planning to launch a new Windows 10 tablet. The rumor states that the upcoming Samsung Windows tablet will pack a 12-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560×1600 or 3840×2400 pixels, a 14 nanometer Intel Core M processor, 4GB of RAM, and the S-Pen. The tablet’s thickness is apparently 6.22mm, and it weighs in at 600 grams. As expected, the tablet will come with Windows 10 – presumably Windows 10 Home. While this shouldn’t really be a surprising news, take this rumor with a truckload of salt. For now, there isn’t much info on the tablet, including the pricing details. Nonetheless, if you’re planning to buy a Windows 10 tablet, will you be waiting for the upcoming Samsung Windows table

Microsoft claims Windows 10 EULA that supposedly removes pirated games is about ‘security’

The walls of text that make up the majority of end-user license agreements (EULA) are often difficult to parse, and this is leading to some confusion around Windows 10 and pirated games. Last week, eagle-eyed Windows 10 users noticed a line in the EULA for Microsoft services that many claimed would enable the company to search through its operating system on your machine for pirated games that it will then remotely disable. But Microsoft says that the relevant portion of the EULA has always given it this power, but people are only just now noticing. And the company says that this is only about keeping Windows users safe. “The Microsoft Services Agreement allows Microsoft to change or discontinue certain apps or content where we deem your security is at risk,” a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement provided to GamesBeat. “This section of the Microsoft Services Agreement is consistent with language in former Terms of Use agreements, which carried over with the introduction of the unified services agreement on August 1. Software that is pirated or botted places the safety and security of our customers at risk, including a higher risk of malware, fraud, public exposure of personal information, and poor performance or feature malfunction. We remain committed to protecting our customers from the risks of non-genuine software and protecting the intellectual property of developers of all types of content.” So far, no one has ever confirmed reports that Microsoft has zapped a pirated game from someone’s personal hard drive, but that could change. Here is the relevant portion of the Microsoft Services EULA that people are citing (bold emphasis is ours): Sometimes you’ll need software updates to keep using the Services. We may automatically check your version of the software and download software updates or configuration changes, including those that prevent you from accessing the Services, playing counterfeit games, or using unauthorized hardware peripheral devices. You may also be required to update the software to continue using the Services. Such updates are subject to these Terms unless other terms accompany the updates, in which case, those other terms apply. Microsoft isn’t obligated to make any updates available and we don’t guarantee that we will support the version of the system for which you licensed the software. That definitely gives Microsoft a lot of legal leeway to make changes to your system, but it may not go as far as your imagining. That’s because this agreement is for “Microsoft services” and not for Windows 10 itself. You can find the list of “covered services” under this agreement at the bottom of the page. The covered services section lists dozens of Microsoft products, but it clearly does not include “Windows 10” or any other Windows operating system. It doesn’t even include the Xbox Store or Windows Store, which is where you can buy legitimate copies of PC games. That’s not to say that playing pirated games with these services would pose zero problems. One of the covered services does include Xbox Live, but that is not going to cause many errors for people playing on PC. It also covers “Microsoft Account.” That’s the email-and-password combination that you may use to sign into your copy of Windows 10, and this is where some of the concern is coming from. But this doesn’t mean Microsoft has full access to make changes to your personal files remotely. First, you don’t need a Microsoft account to boot up and use Windows 10. Second, your Microsoft Account doesn’t have anything to do with software you download and install outside of the Microsoft-service ecosystem. Finally, Microsoft’s recent history suggests it doesn’t want to get into a whack-a-mole fight with pirates. Microsoft would risk a lot if it were to start removing or disabling files on people’s computers — especially since it would really have no way of knowing with 100- percent certainty that a particular game is a pirated copy. Some people crack their legally purchased games with DRM so that they can do things like play offline. It’s gonna take one false positive from Microsoft to make it look like a overreaching dystopian monster. And then people would start viewing it as the security risk

Microsoft Announces Deeper Integration Between Outlook And Office Apps In iOS

Microsoft announced deeper integration between Outlook and Office apps for iPhone and iPad—Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Outlook for iOS now opens Office documents sent as attachments directly in their respective apps, replacing the simple viewers. Editing Office documents sent as attachments is now quick and simple. Tapping on an attachment in Outlook will open the file directly in Word, Excel or PowerPoint, ready for editing in the richest and most powerful authoring apps for iOS. If you haven’t yet downloaded the Office apps, Outlook will load a built-in viewer and provide a link to download the app in the App Store. With the latest updates, once you’ve opened a file from Outlook and finished making your changes, a single tap on the Back button closes the document and returns you to Outlook, automatically adding the now-updated file as an attachment in your reply. Also, Word, Excel and PowerPoint now include a “Send with Outlook” option in the “Share” menu. This button will bring up the Outlook “Compose New Email” pane with the document attached and ready to share. Download the Office apps for iPhone and iPad for free.

Microsoft is rolling out a new Windows 10 preview build for Windows Insiders coming on the Fast Ring!!!!!!

"it has been amazing to see the impact that Windows Insiders have made since we launched the program last year. Your feedback has helped us fix bugs and make changes which resulted in a better product because of your input. Thank you to all of the Windows Insiders who have been with us so far. Now I’d like to talk a bit about what is next.
With the general availability of Windows 10, the Windows Insider Program will focus on building and delivering Windows as a service by updating Windows 10 with new features and functionality on an ongoing basis. As always, Windows Insiders will be the first to see these new features and changes.
Feedback from Windows Insiders not only helps us build Windows 10 – it also helps us shape how we run the program. For example, Windows Insiders have asked us to improve the flighting cadence and to keep the Windows Feedback app in the product – which we have done. We’re also evaluating the Windows Insider rings, and considering whether we should make changes there. Over the past few months we’ve been looking at feedback to see what changes we want to make going forward. We’re putting plans together now, so you won’t see any changes immediately, but they will come over time. We’ll be doing our best to make sure that we improve every aspect of the program, from build distribution to the Feedback app and Insider Hub. And of course we’ll be looking to do more fun things for Windows Insiders as well, like our Insiders to Campus event, Ninja Cat goodies, special wallpapers and more.

Getting started with new Windows 10 Insider Preview builds:

If you’re already a Windows Insider and have been running Windows 10 Insider Preview builds – there is nothing you need to do. You will automatically be upgraded or you can upgrade your build via Windows Update. If you want to get a Windows 10 Insider Preview build installed on a PC running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, you should first upgrade to Windows 10 using the free upgrade offer available to qualified, genuine Windows 7 and 8.1 devices. From there, you can opt in to the Windows Insider Program via Settings app > Update & Security > Advanced options under “Get Insider builds”.
Windows 10 Insider Preview is intended to be installed on genuine Windows 10 devices – before upgrading to Windows 10 Insider Preview Builds or reinstalling Windows 10 please ensure your device is activated. To confirm go to Settings > Update & security > Activation. With the launch of Windows 10 we introduced device based activation. If you’ve previously activated a genuine copy of Windows 10 on your device, you’ll be able to activate Windows 10 Insider Preview builds of the same edition without the need to enter a product key. This will also enable you to re-install the latest public release of Windows 10 without entering a product key if you no longer want Windows Insider Preview on your device."
